Jeffrey L. Scribner

Jeff Scribner is based in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is a seasoned investment banker, consultant, former senior aviation executive and retired Army Officer. His extensive operational and transactional experience provides a solid foundation when advising a wide range of companies from start-ups to mature organizations.

Since 1983, Mr. Scribner has been founder and president of ASI Enterprises, Inc. an investment banking and turn around management boutique. Jeff has been involved in over 200 transactions totaling more than a billion dollars, focusing on early stage companies in the aviation, retail, manufacturing, information technology and healthcare industry sectors. Under Jeff’s management ASI earned a reputation for its creativity in special financing programs for hard to complete transactions, including venture leasing, investor backed loans for real estate developers, and turn around financing for small manufacturers.

An early highlight was a merger between a small commuter airline and a larger, regional airline. The regional company was then quickly acquired by a major national airline that is still in business today. Other transactions include financing for a software company that was later acquired by a fortune 500 company that is now a major player in the software industry. A data processing company was restructured and refinanced allowing it to survive and prosper as an independent company. A chemical company with chronic cash flow problems was helped by a combination of new outside money and a complete reorganization of its financial structure. Debt and/or equity was raised for several other clients including a supermarket a restaurant and several small manufacturing companies including a manufacturer of healthcare equipment.

Mr. Scribner has operational management experience as well as advisory experience in turn-around situations, loss prevention and risk management. As a “hands-on” executive, he has managed three aviation service organizations and a commuter airline, two of which involved successful turn-around from loss to profit. As an Army Officer he commanded an installation in Korea, served two tours in Vietnam and one in Europe. His duties included advising foreign combat units, handling the foreign press corps in a combat zone, security for U.S. assets abroad and intelligence activities.

Mr. Scribner has a MA degree from the University of Maryland Graduate School and an AB from Syracuse University. He is also a graduate of many Army and Defense Department Schools where subject matter ranged from international law and diplomacy to security of embassies and other U. S. assets abroad, management, public relations, intelligence and psychological operations. He speaks German and Korean.
